NRA OPEN SMALL BORE RIFLE MATCH

NRA APPROVED - Sectional

Sponsors: Tri County Rifle Team Association and the Whitehall Rifle Team.

DATE: Friday evening February 1, Saturday February 2 2008 and Sunday February 3 2008.

LOCATION: The Whitehall Rifle Club.  From Whitehall NY take Route 4 East (toward Fairhaven) turn North (right) on to county Route 9. The range is a metal building, located on the right about half a mile from the turn to route 9. It I located on a “T” intersection. Note that the junction of Route 4 and Route 9 is a four way intersection but that the road to the south is labeled County Route 22.

RULES: NRA Smallbore rules.

SIGHTS: any.

RANGE: 50 ft on 8 points. Mats / offhand stands will be available.

ELIGIBILITY: NRA membership is necessary to compete in the sectional. To shoot but not compete in the sectional the entry score card must be marked “not for sectional” Prior to the competitor’s first shot.  Fees will remain the same.

CLASSIFICATION: Competitors and teams will be classified in accordance with NRA rules. Teams will be classified. Classes may be combined if there are fewer than 5 entries in a class. At least three teams entries will be needed for an award.

STARTING TIME: 9 AM first relay, 12 PM second relay. Additional relays may be added as needed. The Friday relay will commence at 7PM. The sponsor reserves the right to schedule shooters and cancel or combine relays as necessary.

SQUADDING PROCEDURE: Course of fire. There will be 20 rounds in each position shot in one 20 shot string. Each position will be completed prior to advancing to the next position. Each relay will complete the individual match before the next relay begins. The order of fire will be Prone, Sitting, Kneeling and Offhand.

ENTRIES: Limited to 8 competitors on each relay.

AWARDS: Classes will be combined if there are less than 5 shooters. There will be no category breakdown. For each additional 5 shooters in a class there will be an additional place award. There will be an overall First and Second Place in Match 5 and an overall First in each of Matches 1,2,3 and 4. Overall winners are not eligible for class awards in the same match. Awards will be cash or NRA points (trophies for juniors if requested). Team award will be a printed certificate and will be awarded only if there are over 3 participating teams.

TEAMS:  A team will consist of 4 members. Teams and a list of team members will be registered prior to any shots for score by any of the team’s members. The team score shall a fired match of 10 shots in each of the four positions.

SCHEDULE:      

Match #1 ) 20 shots prone in 1,20 shot strings (rule 5.6)

Match #2 ) 20 shots standing in 1,20 shot strings (rule 5.12)

Match #3 ) 20 shots sitting in 1,20 shot strings

Match #4 ) 20 shots kneeling in 1,20 shot strings (rule 5.8)

Match #5 ) Aggregate (1,2,3,&4 total)

Match #6 ) Team of 4 shooters. 10 shots from second target of each position.

FEES: Approximately 50% of match fees will be returned in prizes.

MATCH FEE for all individual matches:  $25 

TEAM FEE: $2 per individual, total of $8
